Our last project of the year had no guidelines or rules and we could do just about anything we wanted to. Because I became such a fan or watercolor throughout the year I new I wanted to something with that but I also liked the idea of doing a mosaic. So, I decided that I would just paint a water color that looked like a mosaic. I drew a bunch of irregular shapes that served as the background and a turtle in the middle of it. Then, I painted each little shape various shades of blue, brown, and green like you might see in a mosaic. After I had finished painting, I decided that I didn't want to stop there. I added small pieces of glass around some of the shapes with hot glue to give the picture more texture. My favorite part of this project was that different shades I used for the ocean and the fact that it created a bit of a gradient effect. If there's anything I could change about this, it would maybe to experiment with more of the glass pieces and scatter them across the whole painting.
